Discover your inner writer

The Macedon Ranges Writers' Group was formed in February 2007. Initially focussed in Woodend, the group now attracts members from Romsey, Gisborne, Macedon and Kyneton. We currently have a strong core of eight people who between them write a combination of short stories, poetry and fiction for both adults and young people. There are a couple of members working on novels. We meet monthly on a Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm. Members take it in turns to host the meeting and to provide afternoon tea. Participants are encouraged to bring along a piece of work, either completed or in draft form. This work is read out and the group provides constructive feedback. News of literary events, competitions and publications is shared and we finish the session with a practical writing exercise. There is always lots of laughter and creative energy in the room. The focus is on providing encouragement, stimulation and support for residents of the Macedon Ranges who like to write. New members are always welcome.
