Parenting does not have to be lonely

Single parents in the Macedon Ranges can unite through a new support group.

Woodend resident and single dad, Davis Powell, started the initiative when he couldn't find an existing group.

The group provides a local forum for single parents to share experiences and provide mutual support.

As a single parent, it's hard sometimes to have your own personal life while looking after your kids but it's essential that you make the ffort to take care of yourself and develop a life outside of your children.

Having a personal life aside from your kids gives you increased patience, energy and ehlpful friends to lean on when you need to - important ingredients in the scucess of any family.

The Macedon Ranges Single Parents Group is for single parents of all ages and hosts regular social meetings.
