Woodend Children's Park Newsletter
22 June 09
Our community is working together to build a park of inspiration and discovery.
A meeting place for young and old, locals and visitors. A park to explore, to enjoy, to play.
Working bee on site clears creek bank - thanks folks!

Hearty thanks to go out to all the volunteers who put in a good 4 - 8 hours on 14 June including Evan, Doug, Andrew, Ian, Tom, Glenn, Jo and Marius, the Duffs, the Walducks and the Wenns. Special thanks to Jo Clancy from Landcare and Cori from Woodend Bakery Cafe who supplied the beverages and slices.

Beautiful oaks now see the light of day, safety of the creek embankment has been enhanced, the tennis courts, bike trail, toilets and extra barbeque facilities are all now more visible from the main Park. It has brought the entire community complex together. Good humour and comraderie made this day a delight for everyone involved.

Children's Park helps out Woodend Winter Arts Festival

When the Winter Arts Festival asked for help coordinating audiences on buses to and from the popular Tubby the Tuba concert at Braemar some Woodend Children's Park stalwarts answered the call. Thank you to Jane, Kelly, Peta, Kellie and Megan for volunteering yet more of their time for this fabulous festival.

BA student includes case study on the Park

Kim Hyndman has helped at numerous fundraising BBQs for Woodend Children's Park - thanks Kim! Kim also included a case study on the Park in her Bachelor of Arts project on community built playgrounds.
