Work started in April with earthworks: Thanks Mick White

Earth-works started with Mick White from Michael White Landscaping & Excavations donating his team's services for several days to bring in extra fill, shape the site for drainage, lay trenches and bring in big landscaping rocks. It's amazing. More than 200 cubic square metres of soil has been transported to the site free of charge.

Progress check on site: It's going to be stunning

Construction is being overseen by a dedicated Construction Committee - a tireless team who have put in 1000's of hours so far and many more to come. This weekend other members of the Children's Park team joined the Construction Committee for a progress update on site at the park. Even at this early stage it's obvious this huge park will be stunning.

$2,250 raised at car rally

The tireless Woodend Children's Park fundraising team turned professional caterers in recent months to provide refreshments for the Woodend leg of a vintage car rally. Never have so many scones and quality coffees been made by so few for so many! Rally participants were delighted and the team raised $2,250 to help build the park.

Thank you! We asked for 600 bricks and received 4000

Last week we put out an urgent request for 600 new or second hand bricks. Thank you for your amazing response. Within hours of the newsletter going out, we received offers of over 4000 bricks! Yet another example of the extraordinary community generosity and teamwork that is bringing our park to reality.

We need you. Call for volunteers

Many people responded last week when we put out a call for volunteers. Many hands make light work though, so if you are able to help out occasionally when we need extra hands on site, let us know. We are compiling a database of people willing to provide a few hours when requested. No experience necessary: only a pair of work gloves and some of your time.

Add your name as a volunteer to help onsite occasionally when needed
