Woodend Children's Park

Newsletter 11 May 2007

Thank you to all the community who participated in the
Woodend Children’s Park’s first official meeting on May 7th.

An overwhelming number of enthusiastic volunteers came forward to offer their services in Fundraising, Marketing, Grants/Sponsorship and Design.

The level of expertise that this project is attracting from the community is outstanding and very reassuring.  It is showing us that people are very engaged in how they want their children to experience growing up in Woodend and that they are prepared to come forward and offer their services when and where it counts.  This project is also proving to be a fun journey for people wishing to engage in a very creative experience and contributing to our town, creating new friendships and strengthening community spirit.

We are now Incorporated which means we can start raising the necessary funds for the Park. We have the ability to receive donations of any size online. Westpac can also receive donations in person at the Woodend branch and we will be out and about town with fundraising events so please come down and support this worthwhile cause that will benefit the whole community. We can also make presentions to anybody that would like to know more details about the Children’s Park.

Special thanks to Brad Welsh for the superb logo graphic design and to Allan Spencer-Stewart for establishing our fabulous community website.  Thanks also to Woodend Primary, St. Ambrose Primary and P.F.A. and Woodend Kindergarten for including us in their newsletters.
