Woodend Children's Park

Newsletter 27 April 2007

  • A big thank you to everyone who attended last Thursday night's Community Consultation Forum at the Woodend Kindergarten. We realise that night times are often difficult times for people to get out, but for those who managed, the enthusiasm and excitement for this project was contagious.
  • A full committee was established, and from this the Woodend Children's Park is now able to move forward and create an incorporation and business accreditation which will be handled in the coming week.
  • An overwhelming number of people have come forward wanting to help out and we are urging these people to give us their email address or contact details and specify which areas they think they will be able to lend a hand i.e. Marketing, Fundraising, Grant/Sponsorship, Design and Building management. Teams will be created for all these departments, headed by team leaders who report to the committee, so the onus will not squarely lie with just one or two people. Many hands make light work.
  • Anyone who feels that their time is too limited, we are simply asking for letters of endorsement, to say why they feel this park is important to Woodend, to add to our overall Business Proposals.
  • An enormous thank you to our Visual Display Guru Brad Welsh for the Park's new logos and design.
  • Next Meeting: Next meeting will be held at the Woodend tennis Club on Monday May 7th at 9.30am. Teams will be formed from the volunteers who've come forward, and projects set for people to get started with. We look forward to seeing you all then!
